Yesterday, I had the opportunity to represent VisiMedia alongside my colleague Teigan at the MongoDB.Local London, held at the London Hilton Metropole.

The event was a fantastic chance to dive deeper into the ever-evolving MongoDB ecosystem, hear from passionate speakers, and connect with developers and companies who are pushing the boundaries of what’s possible with data. From discussions about coding sustainably to hands-on sessions that awarded skill badges for LinkedIn, there was something for everyone looking to grow both technically and professionally.

The keynote highlighted exciting updates in MongoDB 8.2,covering improvements across both the Community and Enterprise editions. A standout moment for me was the MongoDB Atlas demo showcasing real-time vector-search and embedding, demonstrating an app that could instantly locate a specific moment in a two-hour video using only a semantic query. It was a great example of how far AI-driven data handling has come.

Beyond the talks, the atmosphere was welcoming and collaborative. Everyone I met – From engineers to partner representatives - was open to sharing insights, offering advice, and learning from one another. The event was impressively organised, with a range of sessions running simultaneously to suit different interests and experience levels.

Overall, MongoDB.Local London was an inspiring reminder of how vibrant and supportive the developer community can be. I thoroughly enjoyed my time there and would definitely attend again in the future.
